The truth is, they did not know. Many of the symptom are the same as the flu or common cold. Happy to hear that you are doing better.

But, you know what, even I suffered from recurrent cold last year. Constantly stuffy nose, feverish, headaches, and so on. Don’t know what it was. Hope all this ends soon. Don’t wanna live in this pandemic forever.

I think this is different, January and being with Asians could mean you might have got the Wuhan version of the virus. Much earlier than first known case.

I am pretty sure the disease was circulating in south Florida that time. We have travelers year round here so any new disease would find an early path to South Florida. Glad you eventually recovered

Coming from a nurse this is interesting. Not sure about the prophecies you are making, I doubt we will see multiple viruses. I don’t believe we are too many. We are hardly 7 billion and there are species’ and trees numbering in trillions.

The earliest case of death that was known to me was in early January, she was sister in law of my wife’s hair stylist. She went to Norway fromUSA with severe cold like symptoms and died of Pneumonia upon reaching Norway, her home country. It was very early January. Doctors didn’t say it was Covid as no testing was done on her. She got the disease while in USA.

I hope more and more healthcare professionals will comment here, sharing their experiences. There must have been some critical patients and even few deaths due to inexplicable reasons across hospitals. Like to know more about such incidents.

I heard first-hand accounts of illnesses in adults and their children that would identify as Covid-19. I became concerned in early January 2020 that this virus was spreading rapidly and killing vulnerable people. I am a hospital nurse and heard talk among medical and nursing colleagues concerning spread of the virus, susceptibility, and taking measures to slow the spread of it by late February.
I am sure that this virus is the first of many that will cause pandemic and loss of many lives in years to come. It is inevitable. And the viruses will come from equatorial areas around the world. They will spread rapidly and cause the death of many and of those who survive, life-changing effects. Nature will have its way, there are too many of us.

Florida at that time, had the most serious breathing illness while there I’ve ever had in my life.

Few daily fevers punctuated by cyclical night sweats/fevers, inability to lay down for 10 days without feeling i was being suffocated. Constant raw cough and more. Emergency medical care revealed i had a bronchial issue of unknown origin that they said was both bacterial and viral, and they blamed it on “red tide”. I was told Amoxicillin would help temporarily but to plan on needed to treat the “viral” elements of it for “quite some time”.

I got sick 5 days later, many in the area caught similar bad colds according to WF banker. Tripple sneezes, sore throat, coughed 2 months, lost taste and smell, no fever, sinus stuffed, had to use 2 kleenex each time blew nose. Lungs crackled on worst day of cold about day 12. Worst cold I ever had.
